Navigating EUDR compliance with RSPO

Meeting EUDR compliance with RSPO support

RSPO has reviewed the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) against its own standards and identified areas for alignment. With certifications recognised as a valuable risk assessment tool, RSPO continues to play a pivotal role in advancing sustainability and supporting compliance for its members and regulatory authorities. RSPO intends to enhance organisations’ preparedness for regulatory compliance by
placing traceability at the heart of its processes.

prisma by RSPO

prisma (“Palm Resource Information and Sustainability Management”) is a digital system designed for RSPO Members to strengthen market and regulatory compliance through enhanced data credibility, transparency, and end-to-end traceability in a unified trading platform.

prisma also aims to simplify EUDR compliance by providing companies with an advanced and agile platform to navigate regulatory requirements, enabling members to upload and trace EUDR-compliant information across the entire supply chain.

Enhanced Preparation for EUDR Compliance

Traceability

Seamlessly handle your supply base, sites, smallholder plantations, and trading accounts within one integrated platform.

Checks

RSPO Certification serves as a risk mitigation indicator, potentially reducing checks and administrative burdens for members.

Risk Assessment

Evaluate risks and suggest strategies, complemented by geoJSON reporting and GIS visualisation.

prisma can help RSPO Members (particularly operators and traders) manage, and share critical data required to meet EUDR compliance. This includes geo-location data and other necessary documents that can support due diligence processes under EUDR. While the ultimate responsibility for EUDR compliance lies with the operators and traders, prisma will provide an organised framework for RSPO Members to facilitate this process.

How will prisma by RSPO identify the deforestation status of products?

Integrated Data Monitoring: Uses supply base disclosures, land use change analysis (LUCA), and audit results to map plantation boundaries and identify land conversion dates.

Deforestation Tracking: Helps detect recent land clearing activities to ensure compliance with RSPO’s no-deforestation standards.

Transparent Traceability: Follows RSPO Certified palm oil through the entire supply chain, maintaining verified sustainability data from source to shelf.
